Vintage Peachblow Vases or Pitcher - Guernsey Glass - Gibson Glass - Pink and White Slag Glass

Featured here is are a couple pretty unique and uncommon glass vases or pitchers. For the larger, I've yet to determine its origins or manufacturer, so I'll be careful to separate fact from speculation.

Facts: It's about 6 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest point. It's pretty heavy, weighing in at 1 1/2 pounds. It has an opaque applied handle. There no trademarks or inscriptions on the piece.

Speculation: This seems to be a piece of Peachblow glass. Surely not Wheeling or Mt. Washington, but has some similarity to the New England pieces. No real matches there either though, and this vase seems a bit too "crude" to have come from that line. Some have described it as slag glass, indicating that it's too heavy to be peach blow. Others suppose it to be a Guernsey peachblow piece, having the same shape and general appearance of some of Harold Bennett's work. He had been thought to have dabbled, at least in a limited capacity, with a unique peach blow formula.

Regardless, it's a very pretty piece and a wonderful conversation starter in glass circles. Its true value, as is with most things, is in the eye of the beholder. I'm listing it here at a price that would inspire me to part with this cool piece.

The smaller piece is a pretty little vase from Gibson Glass. This piece is about 4 3/4 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter at the rim. The base has the Gibson trademark and 2000. This pink and white piece is reminiscent of peachblow in its coloring.
